Aaron Allston

I'm very sad to learn about Aaron Allton's passing, yesterday, February 27th.  Aaron was a long-time and trusted contributor to the Mystara product line as well as the author of many other works.  I'd like to take a moment to salute his achievements.

  • Time Machine
This was a column for Amazing Stories in which he described the contents of a specific earlier issue of the magazine — and also described news events, popular entertainments, and social trends in effect during the month that issue was on the newsstands. Sadly, that particular incarnation of Amazing Stories ceased publication after its March, 2005 issue.

  • Time Machine columns he'd contributed included:
    • Amazing Stories #606 (December 2004), pp 80-81, showcasing September 1939.
    • Amazing Stories #607 (January, 2005), pp 80-81, showcasing January 1952.
    • Amazing Stories #608 (February, 2005), pp 80-81, showcasing February 1984.
    • Amazing Stories #609 (March, 2005, published in PDF format), pp 80-81, showcasing March 1933.

Aaron was easy to work with, dedicated, hard-working--and a reliable freelancer.  I don't think Mystara would have been as good without this dear man's contribution. His departure is as unfortunate as it is premature.
